Rules:
General:
1. Join the community! I cannot state this strongly enough. You must either watch or track the community so that you remain aware of what is going on. Also, make a note of the important dates, which are listed above.
Authors:
1. Sign-up via the form linked in the Author Sign-Up post. Author sign-ups will remain open from September 1 - October 31, 2022. (You must include all of the requested information when you sign up.)
2. Verify that your fandom qualifies before signing up. You may do so in a comment to the Author Sign-Up post or by commenting to the What Qualifies as a Small Fandom post at our sister community Small Fandom Fest. The general rule for this community is that any fandom with less than 2,000 fic qualifies.
a. Please note that RPF does not qualify unless the real person has been fictionalized/your story is based on a fictional source. For example, if you’re writing Alexander the Great based on the movie Alexander, or Napoleon based on the Temeraire series.
3. Authors may sign-up to write more than one fic, and/or to co-write a fic. Please read the FAQ before doing so as there are limits to the number of fic you may sign up to write.
a. If you choose to co-write fic, please only sign up once and list both usernames in the sign-up.
b. If you want to write more than one fic, sign up separately for each fic.
4. Authors may also sign-up to do art, but you may not claim your own fic.
5. Stories must be at least 10,000 words long. There is no maximum length.
6. All ratings, pairings (gen, het, slash, threesomes), and genres (from horror to romance) are welcome here.
7. AUs are allowed. Crossovers between small fandoms are allowed. Fusions between small fandoms are allowed.
8. Stories must be fictional person fiction only; this challenge does not include real person fiction unless the real person has been fictionalized. (For example, if you’re writing Alexander the Great based on the movie Alexander, or Napoleon based on the Temeraire series.)
9. Stories must be complete and new – no WIPs or previously posted work will be accepted.
10. Check-Ins are mandatory.
11. Rough drafts are due on January 31, 2023. This date is final; there will be no extensions granted.
12. Final drafts are due on March 31, 2023.
13. The posting date sign-up will be open April 1 - April 4, 2023.
14. Posting begins on April 5, 2023.
15. Stories must not be posted anywhere on the web prior to your posting date for Small Fandoms Bang.
16. Please note that because this is a multi-fandom, small fandom challenge, there is a high probability that Artists will be asked to create art for fandoms that they are not familiar with. We’d like to encourage Artists to not drop out for this reason, but do realize that they may require the aid of their Author to find screen caps, character descriptions, etc. Artists should not be afraid to ask their Author’s assistance, and Authors should expect that their aid might be needed.
Artists:
1. Sign-up via the form linked in the Artist Sign-Up post. Artist sign-ups will remain open from November 1, 2022 - January 31, 2023. (You must include all of the requested information when you sign up.)
2. Acceptable art includes: A fanmix with at least 8 songs, a series of at least 8 icons, a video, a podfic, a single piece of two-dimensional art such as a cover or banner (manip, drawing, etc), or title and chapter banners.
a. At least one piece of art is required; if the artist would like to produce additional work that is fine.
3. Artists will have the opportunity to claim additional fic if there are any unclaimed fic after the first round of claiming.
4. Artists may also sign-up to write fic, but may not claim their own fic for which to produce art.
5. Artists may co-create art. If you choose to co-create art, please only sign up once and list both usernames in the sign-up.
6. Check-Ins are mandatory.
7. The claiming period is February 7 - February 13, 2023.
