Our twelfth round at smallfandombang has come to an end! I’d like to thank everyone who participated this year and helped make this round a huge success. Whether you were an author or an artist, a beta or a cheerleader, or a someone who left a comment, your participation is appreciated.

In particular I’d like to thank the several artists who stepped up and took on the task of creating artwork for more than one story, and especially those artists who took chances on fandoms they weren’t familiar with. You have my heartfelt thanks.

For those keeping track, we had 23 stories and/or art created in 25 different fandoms (including crossovers) this round! Beneath the cut you’ll find links to all the stories and accompanying artwork. If you haven’t already checked them out, enjoy! *g*

Diner (1982)

Summary: It had gotten much harder to put the effort in two weeks into the silence, and now it was four weeks and Eddie was getting married and Billy had no clue what was going on. With anyone.

Dominion of the Fallen (Aliette de Bodard)

Blood of my Blood by estelraca (Asmodeus/Thuan, Berith/Francoise;Asmodeus/Thuan, Berith/Francoise PG13)
Summary: Asmodeus is Fallen, one of the angels cast out of the City and left to wander the mortal world bereft of memories, knowing only that they have lost something precious. The Fallen rule Europe, and have colonized a great deal of the world, but their wars have also poisoned air and water. Thuan is a dragon prince, married to Asmodeus during political upheaval. Despite their courtship really starting when Thuan thrust a sword through Asmodeus' chest, the two dearly love each other, and the House that they protect.

Twenty years after Asmodeus (somewhat immorally) convinced his Fall-sister Berith and her human wife and adopted child to move into Hawthorn, Berith finally succumbs to her long illness. Asmodeus takes it as well as Thuan could have expected: he swears he is going to gift Berith's wife with another child, a child of Berith's blood and a soul that resonates with Berith's. Given that the Fallen are unable to use their magic to heal and are all sterile, created that way by God, this is a harder task than it should be. Thuan is there to make sure Asmodeus doesn't do something all of them will regret.

Dramacon (comics)

Yattacon 2023: A Long-Awaited Homecoming by box_of_doom (Christie LeRoux, Matt Green,Bethany Peters, Raj, Sandra Green, Greta Huff, Monica, Hyu-Jeong | Christie/Matt, Beth/Raj, Sandra/Greta; PG13)
Summary: When Christie decided not to go to Yattacon 2019, she honestly expected it to be a one-year palate cleanser. Suffice to say, life got a little bit in the way of those plans.

Now, five years later, she is more excited than ever to return to her first ever con and experience all its highs and lows all over again as she helps out in the dealer's room, drinks up the atmosphere, catches up with old friends, and is horrified by the length of the various lines. Expect lots of pawky (and other off-brand names), cosplay, and nostalgic feels for cons past and present.

Summary: When Mr Knightley falls ill after the Box Hill excursion, Emma takes on the task of nursing him back to health.

Gifted (2017)/Political Animals (tv)

Summary: TJ heads to St. Petersburg, FL for a much needed vacation and meets Frank Adler when he needs a boat mechanic. TJ spends a lot of his time with Frank and Mary, but when Frank realizes that TJ is ~that TJ Hammond, he ends their relationship. TJ uses his pain to compose the best piece he’s ever done, then returns home to D.C. to shop it around. TJ’s having some success, but there’s still a hole in his life where Frank and Mary lived. When Frank brings Mary to D.C. so they can attend TJ’s concert, will they be able to patch things up?

Summary: Godai and Onodera came out of the Rider War actually liking each other, unlike many of their compatriots. What do you invite your soul-sibling to as the years stretch on? Your wedding, obviously.

(And your funerals, especially the ones that others can't attend--the ones that burn hot enough to turn sand to glass beneath you as you try not to become a monster that destroys worlds.)

Summary: Paris is burning. Civil unrest is running rampant and bombs are exploding across the city. And yet, in the midst of this, people continue to live their lives. For Nikita Jones, balancing university applications, graduation and parental expectations should be the most pressing issues in her life. That is until a chance encounter with a passionate and enigmatic older man could have unintended consequences on the trajectory of her future. Now she stands at the crossroads of either following her own heart or standing by her ethical convictions.

Summary: Doc Tobei's teleporter experiments go very wrong again, not only bringing back Odeo but several other incarnations of Odio who promptly use dark magic to invite their friends over! Their attempts to fully summon their Demon Lord into the world result in a battle between a berserk rampaging dinosaur and the Steel Titan, after which they rethink their life choices.

Monsters in the Shadow by tarlanx (Malik/Fabio Cannizzaro | Lo Zingaro; NC17)
Summary: Prodigium security chief, Malik, is sent to Rome to retrieve the two superhumans, find out how they got their super-strength and invulnerability, and clean it all up. They capture Ceccotti (Jeeg) and take the sole remains of Fabio Cannizzaro (his head) back to London. However, the head seems to be changing, slowly regrowing Cannizzaro's body. Malik is convinced both superhumans could be an asset to Prodigium, though Jekyll has his doubts. It is that or find a way to contain or destroy them.

The Sandman (tv)

I may meet you in my dreams by melime (Dream of the Endless | Morpheus/Hob Gadling; PG13)
Summary: After learning of his friend's identity in their reunion, Hob begins meeting Morpheus in the Dreaming every so often. He tries not to read too much into these meetings, afraid of Morpheus' reaction if he learns of Hob's feelings for him, and is simply glad to have more time with him. Even if Morpheus is guiding him through the Dreaming holding hands and his raven calls it a date, surely this is just Hob's wishfulthinking, right?

Lost and found by melime (Gault/Lucienne; PG13)
Summary: When Lucienne became a raven, the first denizen of the Dreaming to meet her was a nightmare whose name she didn't know. Since then, Gault had come to find her many times, for reasons that Lucienne couldn't understand. Until one day she did.

Or, 5 times Gault found Lucienne, and one time Lucienne found her instead.

Summary: Miles Morales is having the worst Valentine's Day ever: Ganke is having a date emergency, Mysterio and Sandman are wreaking havoc at the same time, meanwhile, Miles is trying to figure out his feelings for his best friend and mentor, Peter Parker. Surely, Miles only has a little crush and he’s not really in love with him, right? To top it all off, Peter seems to be stuck in a time loop and it's on Miles to help him get out of it.

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku | Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (anime)

Heart In My Chest, Heart On Your Sleeve by box_of_doom (Kabakura Tarou/Koyanagi Hanako/Momose Narumi/Nifuji Hirotaka; PG13)
Summary: Momose Narumi was done with soulmates. After all, it didn't matter how well a guy's hair matched the orange, green, or blue soulmarks swirling over her heart, they all turned out to be jerks, and most of them dumped her right after finding out that she was an otaku.

But that was all behind her. She had a new apartment and a new job now. And she had her childhood friend, Hirotaka, and Koyanagi, a cosplayer who was just as glad to have such a kindred spirit at work as she was, and Kabakura, who was a good senpai and very much her type, but apparently had already found at least one of his own soulmates. And their hair colours didn't matter at all. Right?

Summary: After the rescue from the Salvage Lands, Magnus accepts Xavier's invitation to rest and recover at the Xavier Mansion. However, this experience leaves them with traumas, nightmares, and raised unresolved issues in their past. They try to help one another through this trauma, while each hesitates to share their own concerns. Will the feelings that they still nurture from each other be enough to cut through decades of pain?
