Summary: Asmodeus is a Fallen angel, cast out of the City for a crime he cannot remember. He took House Hawthorn from a cruel and unjust ruler, and though he was vicious with his enemies, he protected those who were his with all of his might. Thuan is the dragon prince who found himself in an arranged marriage with Asmodeus, and despite his sadistic husband's many flaws, decided there was something worth saving in both Asmodeus and their relationship.

Twenty years later, Thuan has been working hard to fix the political mess that has enveloped their world for centuries. Inter-House cooperation is at an all-time high; there's finally a chance for lasting peace.

All of which risks tumbling down when Thuan's dead body is dropped in front of House Hawthorn. Everyone expects Asmodeus to react in a vicious, bloodthirsty counter-attack. And he will... but he's not just going after whoever hurt Thuan. If even Thuan can't make the city safe, then clearly peace is not an option. The only way to keep Hawthorn and the rest of those dependent on him from harm is to destroy everyone who could potentially be a danger to them... and everyone who would try to do as Thuan did.

But Thuan may not be as dead as Asmodeus thinks, and Phyranthe, Asmodeus' Fallen companion and right-hand woman (fellow sadistic survivor of a world where torture was expected and murder common), finds that she doesn't want a return to the bad old ways. Not just because it would be dangerous for Hawthorn... but because it would be bad for Asmodeus, and maybe, even, for her.

Summary: Godai and Onodera are soul brothers--alternate versions of each other, shaped by their own worlds.  They're both heroes, though, supposed to be shining beacons of justice and protection for humankind thanks to Kuuga, the symbiote both each acquired in their own way.  While most soul-siblings who met during the Rider War disliked each other, being on opposite sides, Godai abstained from the fighting, and Onodera... Onodera was a hero, choosing the salvation of all universes over the life of the man he loves.

Now that the War is over, what do you invite your soul-sibling to?  Your wedding, of course (and maybe he'll bring his version of your sister who died long before any talk of weddings could happen).  The end of the world, too, because who else can understand the fire burning inside your symbiote--the fire that could raze a planet, if only you let it free--better than someone else who carries the same burden?  (And maybe the death of a spouse isn't the end of the world, but it's the end of your world, and if you want it to be... if you decide not to be the hero... but neither of you can make that choice, not and still be who you are, so you need someone to talk to as you turn the sand beneath you to glass with your grief.)
