After a year as an active operative, the emotional toll is getting to Nikita and she refuses orders to kill an innocent. She is unknowingly sent on a suicide mission along with other expendable operatives. To her great surprise, she survives. Now Nikita finds herself free of Section One but faced with the reality that life in the real world will always involve her looking over her shoulder. Her discovery by the real Michael brings additional complications. What does Nikita value most, her new found freedom or the opportunity to infiltrate Section One and help reform the very organization that had been the source of so much trauma for her?
