Title: The Sun Rising
Author: DoreyG
Artist: Lightning_Skies
Fandom: Grayson (Comics)
Characters/Pairings: Dick Grayson/Tiger
Rating/Category: NC17/Slash
Genre: Action/Adventure with a hefty dose of Romance
Word Count: 18861
Warnings Canon typical violence in several parts, which counts as some depictions of graphic violence considering.
Summary: "A rather unique location?" Grayson, who is apparently incapable of keeping his mouth shut even under pain of death, asks with that certain obtuse wrinkle of his forehead that inevitably means he's several steps behind, "are we supposed to guess, or...?"

"A resort for married couples," Matron answers sharply, but the roll of her eyes is fond. Too fond, "gay married couples, to be exact."

While adding this fic to the master list, I noticed that your summary is different in this announcement than it is at the fic post on AO3. Is that intentional?

If you mean it's the summary you provided on your rough draft for artist claims, then yes, you should change it. That summary needed to contain enough information for the artists to get a good idea of what the story was about, rather than being the sort of teaser summary you normally use when posting a story. The summary in this announcement should match the summary of your posted fic. Thanks.

It's not a "rule" - if you want to give away the plot of your fic in the summary, then leave it as is.

As the mod, I am often required to comment to these announcement posts to request edits to a subject line, or that a broken link be fixed, etc. My request is in no way meant to diminish the celebration you feel at having completed the challenge.

I also apologize for my knee-jerk reaction yesterday when I read your previous comment. I’d been having a frenzied morning because our puppy was sprayed by a skunk and so I was up at 5:30 giving him a bath and starting the first of half a dozen loads of laundry related to that debacle, and therefore not being as diplomatic as I normally try to be. When I read your comment about it ‘not being in the rules’, I felt that you had set me up with what I took to be a genuine question as to whether you should change it, and I may have overreacted a bit.

The reason I brought the summary to your attention is because I thought it was an error, which is why I asked if it had been intentional. In my experience, authors generally tend to use the same summary in their announcement posts as they do in the actually story post. I thought perhaps you believed that you ~had to use the same summary as in the rough draft, which is not the case. And which is also unusual, because when I’m exhorting authors to provide a detailed summary for the rough draft, I make sure to say that the rough draft summary is not the same sort of teaser summary you’d use when posting your fic to intrigue the reader.

If you choose to use the rough draft summary in this post, you should let me know which summary you'd like me to use in the master list of fic.
