Our fourteenth round at smallfandombang has come to an end! I’d like to thank everyone who participated this year and helped make this round a huge success. Whether you were an author or an artist, a beta or a cheerleader, or a someone who left a comment, your participation is appreciated.

In particular I’d like to thank the several artists who stepped up and took on the task of creating artwork for more than one story, and especially those artists who took chances on fandoms they weren’t familiar with. You have my heartfelt thanks.

Lucia Honeychurch has her whole life mapped out for her. A quiet post in an Anglican college; a good marriage to a respectable, dull church type. When she and her cousin Charlotte head to Florence for a senior trip, she thinks she'll enjoy nothing more than statues, Fellini and some pasta.

Then she meets her tour guide's artist son. And suddenly, the notion of living a life of just 'good enough' isn't worth entertaining. Will she do the proper thing and marry a closeted vicar-to-be with money but no passion? or will George's arrival in England upend everything?

Summary: 25 years before the events of “Red Tape”, Brenda Leigh Johnson and Sharon Raydor met under very different circumstances: Brenda an adventurous young musician from Georgia looking for love and acceptance in the City of Angels, and Sharon, a young cop and mother that dreams of making a difference in the world and living life on her own terms. What ensued was a whirlwind romance turned heartbreak, and a wound that would take 25 years to heal.

Summary: Everyone is born into a world of black and white. For many it will remain monochromatic for their whole lives. But for the lucky few who find their soulmate, the world bursts into vibrant technicolor. Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson and Captain Sharon Raydor of the LAPD are about to get lucky... whether they want to or not.Can they find a way to tolerate each other enough that the colors permeate the whole world? And what exactly does it mean to be someone's soulmate anyway? What could be lost by ignoring each other completely? What could be gained by giving in?

Defying Gravity (1997 movie)

The Exs by pairatime (Griff/Pete, Todd/Heather, the brothers; PG13)
Summary: Griff and Pete’s lives have become busier and busier as Griff works up the job ladder and Pete starts working with other plays and theaters to get experience which means they don’t see each other much as much as had before. They are however seeing their exs, Grif hangs out with Marcus even as Pete is working with his first kiss turned actor Andrew. Griff struggles with jealous as Pete, Todd and the other Brothers deal with frustration-directed mostly at Griff.

Doctor Who: Scream of the Shalka (cartoon)

to be held in your captivity by melime (Ninth Doctor/The Master; NC17)
Summary: As the TARDIS now has one new occupant, the Master, not at all motivated by jealousy, decides to reaffirm his place in the Doctor's life, in the form of disrupting, provoking and seducing him, all while the Doctor is attempting routine repairs on the TARDIS. The Master has to adjust his plan as that happens, countering the Doctor's resistances and following his encouragements, all while telling himself conflicting motivations for his own actions and those of the Doctor.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard (game)

Over Cups of Coffee by melime (Lucanis Dellamorte/Male Elf Rook; PG13)
Summary: Not long after Rook recruits Lucanis, they drink coffee together late at night, both trying to avoid sleep. This is one of the many cups of coffee shared during the development of their relationship, which moves slowly due to Lucanis' hesitation to get close to Rook because of Spite. Rook quickly falls for Lucanis, and as a Mourn Watcher he's unbothered by spirits, but he's willing to wait until Lucanis is ready.

Dramacon (comics)

(Un)Conventional by box_of_doom (Sandra Green/Greta Huff, Matt Green/Christie LeRoux, Derek/Christie LeRoux; PG13)
Summary: Greta has always believed in soulmates. But then again, she met Sandra when they were in kindergarten and grade one respectively and their transition from best friends to partners was pretty seamless, aided in no small part by their mutual love of anime, and the conventions that they visit and sell at together. But sadly, Matt was never quite as lucky. And despite enjoying tagging along with them to conventions and being both a friend and honorary little brother to her, Greta's always worried about the amount of stuff that he's had to go through. And then they attend Yattacon, and Matt falls in love with the girl sitting next to them in Artist Alley.

Eerie, Indiana (tv) (Lockwood & Co. (Jonathan Stroud) fusion)

Trusted Associates Inc. and the Haunted Heart by [Unknown site tag] (Melanie Monroe/Devon Wilde, One-Sided Devon Wilde/Marshall Teller, Simon Holmes & Marshall Teller & Syndi Teller; PG13)
Summary: Syndi Teller, Marshall Teller, and Simon Holmes are agents, trained to fight The Problem: the dead who walk the earth as ghostly visitors. They run their own small agency - Trusted Associates Inc - out of the Teller house in Eerie, Indiana - a town where the Problem has proven to be even stranger than it is elsewhere. Between the cases they take, Trusted Associates spends time researching the Problem and trying to understand its cause, as well as why it is so different in Eerie - in particular, why Syndi Teller, who should be too old to see the spirits they fight, has maintained her talent.

One day, a family comes to hire Trusted Associates because their daughter, Melanie Monroe, is being haunted by the boy who's heart saved her life. Marshall is excited to take this case, hoping it will lead to a better understanding of the Problem. What they find during their operation, however, is a very different haunting than any they've ever seen before. And then Melanie and her ghost, Devon Wilde, offer to take them to a place where they can find answers to all of their questions about the Problem and Eerie.

And, despite his sister's misgivings, Marshall knows it's too good a chance to pass up.

Evil West (game)

Summary: Jesse's spent his whole life knowing to expect exactly this moment, having been groomed and molded to slip right into his father's shoes as head of the Rentier Institute. But the Institute is in shambles and Jesse's more sure than ever that he ain't anywhere near cut out for the job. Getting involved with Chester only makes everything worse: his tip-offs may have saved Jesse's skin more than once, but the price isn't something Jesse's sure he wants to keep paying. At least, that's what he's been telling himself.

But it's easy enough to keep giving in when Chester knows the worst thing about him and only responds with that familiar Tick hunger. When a new threat places Chester in greater proximity to the rest of the Institute it becomes harder for Jesse to ignore the shape of what it is between the two of them, as fear of discovery wars with a desire he just can't shake.

Summary: Jesse Rentier was not someone with any interest in politics but when the President himself tasks the agent with guarding the incumbent governor of a recently formed state against supernatural threats he finds himself embroiled in all manner of annoying circumstances.


Generation Loss (web series)

all that follows is true by tellmewhatyousee (Ranboo & Hetch; NC17)
Summary: Showfall is a media company conducting torturous experiments on mind-controlled "actors" for the entertainment of their viewers. Ranboo, one of said actors, manages to find some lucidity with the help of Hetch, a hacker and rogue Showfall technician.

Jeeves and the Stranger by xieyouji (Reginald Jeeves/Bertram "Bertie" Wooster; PG13)
Summary: It has been brought to my attention, by certain interested parties, that I have yet to relate in my memoirs the story of how my inimitable manservant Jeeves came to be in my employ. “Surely not,” thought I, rifling through the archives, but alas, it appears as though I have indeed made something of a blunder in this regard. Henceforth, I shall endeavour to correct this glaring omission within this very volume that you are currently holding.

It all began on chilly September evening.

La Femme Nikita (tv)

Summary: The year is 1941. Jazz is still king and another world war threatens global stability. Michael Samuelle works undercover at Section, a jazz club run by former army intelligence officer, Paul Wolfe, who is running contraband supplies to the Germans. Michael’s assignment is to discover Wolfe’s sources and gather information that will shut down the operation. What Michael doesn’t count on is falling into a secretive affair with Nikita Wirth, Paul Wolfe’s beautiful companion. Michael’s loyalties to his assignment are now in conflict with his growing feelings for Nikita and her personal safety.

The Soul Destroying Sphere by tehexile (Masaru/Namkiat, Odie o'Bright/Ou Di Wan lee; PG13)
Summary: A date night at the arcade bar leads to Masaru finding out that Namkiat is supernaturally good at Pacman. They go back to Namkiat's apartment and Masaru learns about Namkiat's secret life as a spirit hunter. Drunken shenanigans lead them to the spirit realm, where they meet old friends and face off against a berserk, pilled-up Pacman!

Sometimes Planes Just Disappear by flipflop_diva (From Ghosts: Sam/Jay, Hettie, Trevor, Flower, Pete, Thor. From Manifest: Michaela/Drea, Ben/Grace, Olive, Cal, Jared: PG)
Summary: When Flight 828 disappears from all airport control tower radars, it appears somewhere else. And that somewhere else is the lawn at Woodstone Mansion. And now there are even more ghosts running around, along with a plane that may or may not be a ghost itself. And that is just the beginning of the chaos.

Guest Lectures and Murder by spikedluv (Jessica Fletcher & Graham Winslow; PG13)
Summary: Jessica Fletcher returns to Garrison, Washington to do a favor for her friend Amy Winslow – co-teach her summer class at Elmstead College with Amy’s father, Graham Winslow. Jessica and Graham take the opportunity of teaching together to strengthen their friendship and work on their current books together. Despite Amy’s request that they assist Detective Travis Burke while she’s away on sabbatical, Jessica has no intention of getting caught up in murder. She’s far too busy for that.

Summary: Holmes interrupts an attempt to set his rooms on fire, and is injured while pursuing the arsonist. When it becomes clear that his head injury may cause long term effects, will Watson be able to help him through his recovery?

Summary: Sherlock and John are bound together, and happy enough with that unexpected problem. But Sherlock is still stalked by something dark and dangerous, and John finds that in his dreams he sees a hole where his heart should be. Who was Jonathan, and what does he have to do with this problem?

Summary: Set sometime after the events of Ten Gokaiger, the crew watches Captain Marvelous disappear through a portal after being stabbed. As they begin to hunt down their captain, Ahim announces a complicating issue: she will soon be entering a heat-like state—one of only a rare few chances for her to likely have children and carry on the Famille royal bloodline. The crew races to get their captain back from an alternate dimension. When they do, though, they find that more than one of them may be having kids in the near future.

Summary: After watching Narumi play Coffee Talk, Naoya is inspired to open a café that specifically caters to an evening crowd. In order to get an idea of what's out there, he invites Narumi to visit various cafés with him to better understand the coffee scene outside of the [off-brand Starbucks] chain in which he's currently employed. (Narumi... maaaayyyyy use this as an excuse to take him to various collab cafés and get more of the collectable goods, but hey! They're still technically cafés, right?) Oh, and also, Naoya is planning on proposing to Kou after beating her at a video game, despite being the worst gamer ever. Which means Narumi needs to find a way to help him out. Too bad that Hirotaka's clearly not working on the same excuse.

Expect a lot of café culture, tons of nerdiness, and the occasional burst of romance and introspection as Narumi helps her future little brother in law make his dreams come true.

Summary: As Leech needs to stay in observation for a night, Ororo invites Callisto and the rest of the Morlocks to spend the night at Xavier Manor. It's Christmas night and Gambit is happy to have many people to feed, while Jubilee wants the children to feel welcome, as she knows how hard this time was on her as an orphan. As the night progresses, the X-Men start to think of how well the Morlock could fit there.

Yin Yáng Shi | The Yin-Yang Master (Movies - Guo Jingming)/The Heart (tv)

The Heart Knows Not Of Distance, Space Nor Time by tarlanx (Boya/Qingming | Zhou Xiaofeng; PG13)
Summary: For over two thousand years Boya had the love of his life by his side but being only half-Fox did not bestow immortality on Qingming. Qingming promised him they would find each other again in his next life. Now, almost four hundred years later Boya has found Qingming reincarnated as the wholly human Zhou Xiaofeng, an incredibly talented cardiologist, and this time Boya intends to find a way to make him immortal so they would never have to part again. But first, he has to make Xiaofeng fall in love with him again and help him restore the memories of their long lives as Boya and Qingming.
