SFBB01: Author Sign-Ups Closed & Other Admin Stuff

1. Authors: Just to make it official: Author sign-ups are closed! *g* We have 204 fic sign-ups! We hoped that a small fandom big bang that didn’t limit fandoms would generate some interest, but we honestly had no idea how much interest it would get. Thank you all so much for signing up!

2. Artists!! As in, we still need them! We currently have 28 artists signed up (thank you to those of you who have signed up as artists!), but even if each artist does double duty, that will still leave nearly 3/4 of the fic without artwork. So, I’ll say it again, we need more artists!

Please mention in your journal or small fandom community (so long as they allow things like that) that we’re still looking for artists. (Artist sign-ups run through January 31, 2012.) They don’t even have to be familiar with the fandoms, you know why? Because the authors will be helping them!

If the artist wants to draw something for a book fandom, the author will give them a detailed description of the characters. If the author has picked out actors they thing would be perfect for the roles, they can offer up that information. Links to screencaps, or screencaps themselves if you’ve got access to the show/movie/game/etc.

3. Support Comm: If you haven’t accepted your invitation to join smallfandomcafe, please do so immediately. If you have not yet received an invitation, please let us know by commenting to this post.

4. Check-Ins: There will be 3 author check-ins; the first two are not mandatory, though highly encouraged, but the third and final check-in is mandatory. Why? Because by that point you will have to have chosen the fandom(s) you’re writing in so that we (and the artists) have an idea of what the final list of fandoms will look like.

The first check-in post will be going up shortly.

I didn't see if anyone asked, but does MASH (TV show) qualify? I'm asking mostly because I run mash_slash (which has just over 1,000 posts, and I know less than 1,000 are fic, and many are cross-posted to ff.n), and I could probably rope in some artists that way. I just don't want to promo there if the fandom itself doesn't qualify for next round or this one.
